§ 5 Tools used for Web Analytics

1. Use of Google Analytics

(1) This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that permit an analysis of your utilisation of the website. The information generated by the cookie on your use of this website is normally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Where IP anonymisation is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting countries of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to and truncated on a Google server in the USA. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, collate reports on website activities and render further services to the operator of the website in connection with website utilisation and Internet usage.

(2) The IP address sent by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other data held by Google.

(3) You can change your browser settings to prevent cookies from being stored; however, we draw your attention to the fact that, in these circumstances, you may find that you are unable to make full use of all the functions of this website. You can also prevent the data (including your IP address) relating to your use of the website, which is captured by the cookie, from being sent to or processed by Google through downloading and installing the browser plug-in, which is available under the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

(4) This website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()“. As a result, IP addresses are processed in a truncated form, and the possibility of connecting IP addresses with a specific person can be ruled out. As far as the data collected from you can be related to you personally, any such relation is therefore ruled out immediately, and the personal data are hence deleted without delay.

(5) We use Google Analytics to analyse the utilisation of our website and enhance the website on a regular basis. Through the generated statistics, we are able to improve our services offered and make them more interesting for you as a user. For the exceptional cases, in which personal data are transferred to the USA, Google has committed to adhere to the provisions of the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Article 6 Subsection 1 Sentence 1 Letter f of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

§ 6 Tools used in relation to Social Media

1. Use of Social-Media-Plug-ins

(1) At present, we use the following Social-Media-Plug-ins: Facebook. We use the so-called two-click solution. This means that, if you visit our website, no personal data will be forwarded initially to the providers of the plug-ins. The providers of the plug-ins recognise you through the marking in the box via its initial letter or the logo. We provide you with the opportunity to use a button in order to communicate directly with the provider of the plug-in. Only if you click on the marked field and thus activate that field will the provider of the plug-in receive information that you have retrieved the corresponding website of our online offer. Furthermore, the data mentioned under § 3 of this statement will be transmitted. In the event of Facebook and Xing, the IP address is anonymised in Germany immediately after collection according to information from the providers. Through activation of the plug-in, personal data are hence transmitted by you to the respective plug-in provider and stored there (in regards to US providers: in the USA). As the plug-in provider collects the data in particular through cookies, we recommend you to delete all cookies via the security settings of your browser before clicking on the grey box.

(2) We neither exercise any influence on the collected data and the data processing procedures, nor are we aware of the full scope of data collection, the purposes of processing and the storage periods. We do not have any information either on the deletion of the collected data by the plug-in provider.

(3) The plug-in provider stores the data collected in regards to you as usage profiles, and uses these profiles for purposes of advertising, market research and/or for the design of its website according to requirements. Such evaluation is conducted in particular (including for users who are not logged in) in order to display advertisements in line with user requirements and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You are entitled to raise an objection against the creation of such user profiles, but will have to get in touch directly with the respective plug-in provider in order to exercise that right. Via the plug-ins, we provide you with the opportunity to interact with the social networks and other users, enabling us to improve our services offered and make them more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the utilisation of plug-ins is Article 6 Subsection 1 Sentence 1 Letter f of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

(4) The data is transferred regardless of whether you hold an account with the provider of the plug-in and are logged into that account. If you are logged into the plug-in provider, your data collected by/from us will be allocated directly to your existing account held with the plug-in provider. If you confirm the activated button and for instance link the page, the plug-in provider will also store this information in your user account and share it publicly with your contacts. We recommend you to log out on a regular basis after visiting a social network, yet especially before activating the button, as this enables you to avoid allocation to your profile held with the plug-in provider.

You are entitled to raise an objection against the creation of such user profiles, but will have to get in touch directly with Google in order to exercise that right.
